Survey, Resource Mapping, and Inventory for the Lotus-Born Trail Begins
The Survey, Resource Mapping, and Inventory work for the Lotus-Born Trail commenced on 22 January 2026, with a team of 25 officials beginning the journey from Gelephu towards Bumthang.
The multidisciplinary team comprises officials from the Gelephu Mindfulness City Authority, De-suung Headquarters, De-Suung Skilling Programme, National Land Commission Secretariat, Department of Forests and Park Services and the Department of Tourism, along with other stakeholders and members of local communities residing along the trail.
The nine-day programme began with morning prayers and blessings at the Guru Lhakhang in Gelephu presided over by the Lam Neten of Sarpang Rabdey and Khenchen Tshewang Sonam of Tharpaling Monastery.
Following the early morning rituals, the team proceeded towards Ritey to formally commence the fieldwork.
